Baseball
Greg Tubbs
Coach Tubbs is a former MLB player who played for the Cincinnati Reds in 1993. After debuting on August 1, 1993, he appeared in 35 games before his final game later in the year. Tubbs was drafted in the 22nd round of the 1984 amateur draft by the Atlanta Braves. Coach Tubbs loves teaching and being around the game of baseball!
Kevin Strohschein
Kevin is a former Tennessee Tech player who left his mark on the university and the record books. The all-time hits, RBI, Runs, Doubles leader in OVC history. He also sits in the 2nd spot in the OVC record books for most HR’s. Kevin was drafted by the Washington Nationals in 2019, one year after helping lead TTU to the championship game in the super regionals. Kevin specializes in hitting and defensive instruction.
Will Long
Will is from Jonesborough, TN and attended David Crockett High School. He was a 3 year first team all conference player. He is currently in his fifth year at TTU. One collegiate highlight was catching the game that TTU beat the #1 ranked team in the country. Will loves being around the game and helping others reach their goals in the sport. Will specializes in catching instruction.
Eli Huddleston
Eli is from Silver Point, TN. Eli had an outstanding High School career and currently pitches for Tennessee Tech University. During High School Eli was a 3 time All-State selection and his Senior season he won the prestigious award for Mr. Baseball for the state of Tennessee. Eli threw 70.1 innings with a .60 ERA and 106 strikeouts. Eli specializes in pitching instruction.
Eddie Garza
Eddie is from Rio Grande City TX. He had an outstanding HS career hitting .370 for his career. Eddie has made a big impact for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. In his first collegiate year he was selected All-Freshman team for the OVC. Eddie is an expert on infield and defensive development for young players.
Softball
Nicolle Nysted
Nicolle is originally from Georgia and is a Senior on the TTU Softball Team. A second-team All-Ohio Valley Conference and all-newcomer team selection, Nysted posted a team-best .340 average with 23 RBI, raking 32 hits with five doubles and eight home runs; had a .649 slugging percentage, a .434 on-base percentage, a .992 fielding percentage and had 10 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games. In high school she had 25 home runs, batted .325 as a senior, helped lead her Allatoona High squad to a region championship and was named to the 2018 Georgia All-State All-Star Team. She also played three seasons of basketball and one season of lacrosse.
Callie Piper
Callie pitched at TTU for 5 years. She is from Crossville, TN where she was a 4 time recipient of All-District team in High School. She received the Golden Eagle award while at TTU. She loves being able to share her knowledge of softball and pitching.
Jordan Key
Jordan is from Livingston, Tenn and is recent grad from the TTU Softball Team. She emerged as one of the team's leaders in the 2023 campaign, playing in 45 games with 44 starts; recorded a .272 batting average (third-best on the team) with 31 hits, including two doubles; drove in nine runs and came home to score eight times and posted a .972 fielding percentage. .In May 2024 she received the TTU Unsung Leader Award. HIGH SCHOOL: A standout at Livingston Academy, Key helped lead LA to a District 8-AA title, while claiming numerous district awards, including Freshman of the Year, All-District, Defensive Player of the Year and tournament MVP. Key was also named to the TNSCA Middle Tennessee All-Star team and All-State, while also picked to the Rocky Top West All-Star Team. She also helped lead the Tennessee Mojo club team to the ASA National Championship and won the USA Jo Cup national title. .In May 2024 she received the TTU Unsung Leader Award.
Emma Seagrave
Emma was born and raised in Cookeville, TN. She is the current head coach of 931 Elite’s 12u travel softball team and the assistant softball coach at Avery Trace Middle School. Prior to coaching, she played at Walters State Community College where she helped lead her team to a conference tournament title and a national tournament appearance in 2018. She then played at Tennessee Tech before transferring to Augusta University to finish her collegiate career. In high school, Emma received several district nods, helped her team to multiple district championships and lettered all four years at Cookeville High School. Emma provides instruction for all aspects of the game.
Tumble
Monie Pruitt
Monie has 23 years of tumble coaching experience with 8 years as a classroom art teacher. She has cheer experience at the collegiate level as an athlete and coaching experience at the high school and middle school levels, all star cheer and tumbling class instructor. She is very passionate about tumbling technique and values quality instruction/connection with athletes in this sport. With safety being a top priority, she loves teaching athletes to tumble and specialize in building personal confidence that can foster them not only in the sport but also in life!
